The highlight of the event was the conferment of the Dr Darshan Singh Brar Award in Agriculture—2025 to Dr Vijai Pal Singh, Former Head of the Division of Genetics at IARI, and Dr Ashok Kumar Singh, Former Director of IARI, for their pioneering work in developing iconic Basmati rice varieties. Each awardee received a commemorative plaque and a cash prize of ₹1.5 lakh.

The Dr. Darshan Singh Brar Young Scientist Award—2025 was conferred upon Dr. Gurupkar Singh, Senior Fruit Biotechnologist, in recognition of his research excellence in horticulture. Dr Ranjit Singh Tamber, Former Additional Director (Communication), PAU, was felicitated with the Award for Excellence in Communication for his vital role in disseminating agricultural innovations to Punjab’s farming community. Both received a plaque and a cash prize of ₹50,000.
